Everyone is welcome to Qi Gong in New Malden

Classes are taught by Peter Paul Parker, founder of Bright Beings Academy, qualified Qi Gong instructor, Dahn Master and international Qi Gong champion.
Peter has spent years teaching Korean-style Qi Gong to beginners, older adults, highly sensitive people and those looking for a gentler approach to movement and wellbeing.
His teaching combines traditional energy practices with calm, accessible guidance that helps people feel safe, supported and encouraged from the very beginning.
In 2016, Peter travelled to South Korea to compete in the Kookhak Qi Gong International Championships, where he became a Qi Gong champion. Alongside teaching classes and workshops across the local community, he also supports people through breath work, sound healing and embodied wellbeing practices.
Whether you are completely new to Qi Gong or returning after time away, classes are designed to feel welcoming, grounding and beginner-friendly.

"Qi Gong in New Malden is not about performance or perfection. It is about helping people reconnect with movement, breath, balance and calm in a supportive local environment."
If you are new to Qi Gong, it is completely natural to wonder what happens during a class. Many people arrive for the first time feeling curious, and often discover that the practice is far more accessible and enjoyable than they expected.
Our Monday lunchtime classes are designed to help you release tension, improve mobility, calm the mind and reconnect with your natural energy through gentle movement and breathing.
Gentle Warm-Up Exercises
We begin with simple movements that help loosen the joints, improve circulation and prepare the body for practice. These exercises are suitable for beginners and can be adapted to different levels of mobility.
Breathing And Energy Awareness
You will learn easy-to-follow breathing exercises and energy-building practices that help quieten the mind, improve focus and encourage a greater sense of calm and wellbeing.
Korean-Style Qi Gong Practice
The main part of the class focuses on guided Qi Gong movements that help improve balance, flexibility, posture and overall body awareness. Every exercise is demonstrated clearly and explained step-by-step, making it easy to follow regardless of experience.
Relaxation And Mindfulness
Towards the end of the session, we slow things down and allow the body and mind to settle. This helps many students leave feeling refreshed, centred and ready for the week ahead.
A Welcoming Community
One of the things students value most is the supportive atmosphere within the class. There is no competition, pressure or expectation to perform. Everyone is encouraged to work at their own pace and enjoy the practice in a way that feels right for them.
Many students tell us they leave feeling lighter, calmer and more energised than when they arrived.

"Since joining Peter's qi gong classes it has definitely helped me with focusing on mental clarity and breathing exercises making the every day life flow easier. This has led to improved joint flexibility, strength and stamina over a period of time attending a weekly physical class and the opportunity of online sessions available to keep up the continuity."

"When I joined Peter's class a few months ago, I didn't really know what Qi Gong was. I was just looking for a replacement for a fitness class that I'd had to give up; Well, lucky me!... I'm learning that the classes are about so much more than just 'physical' fitness. Since attending, I just seem to be more focused, calm and on top of things."
