Binaural Beat Designer Instructions

Precision sessions for meditation, calm focus, and deep rest — with headphones.

Welcome to the Bright Beings Academy Binaural Beat Designer.

This advanced, browser‑based tool lets you build precise binaural sessions by choosing a gentle carrier tone and a left–right frequency difference (differential) that aims at your desired brainwave band — from delta to gamma — with soft ramps and timers for comfortable practice.

Headphones are required for binaural beats. Keep the volume low and comfortable.

Please consider donating to the Bright Beings Academy, so we can keep producing sound generators for your continuing exploration into sound healing. No gesture is too small. We welcome your support and good intentions.

Quick Start (3 Steps)

1. Pick your intention (sleep, calm, meditation, focus, clarity).

2. Set your differential for the target band (guide below), and choose a comfortable carrier (e.g., 200–400 Hz).

3. Set a timer (10–45 minutes), press Start, and allow the fade‑in to complete before adjusting.

Controls (What you’ll see)

Carrier / Centre Frequency (Hz): The steady tone both ears hear (around which the split occurs).

Differential (Hz): The left–right difference that creates the binaural beat (e.g., 10 Hz for Alpha).

Left / Right Fine‑Tune (Hz): Optional micro‑adjustments if you want to set each ear explicitly.

Master Volume: Conservative output to avoid spikes.

Timer: 10, 15, 20, 30, 45–60 minute options.

Ramps: Smooth fade‑in/out for click‑free starts and endings.

Start/Stop controls.

How to Use the Designer (Detailed)

One intention per session. Keep it simple (e.g., “30 minutes calm focus”).

Choose a comfortable carrier (many prefer 200–400 Hz). Too low can feel boomy; too high can feel sharp.

Set the differential for your target band (see guide). Smaller values feel subtler.

Press Start and let the fade‑in complete. Make small changes only, then wait 15–30 seconds to notice the effect.

Keep levels modest. You should be able to speak comfortably over the sound.

Let the timer and fade‑out close the session gently; sit for a minute of quiet integration.

Tip: If the beat feels wobbly or fatiguing, lower the master, pick a slightly higher carrier, or reduce the differential by 1–2 Hz.

Differential Guide (Plain‑English)

These are common associations; experiences vary and no medical claims are made.

Delta (1–3 Hz) — Deep rest, pre‑sleep, recovery. Use in the evening.

Theta (4–7 Hz) — Meditation, creative flow, emotional release.

Alpha (8–10 Hz) — Calm focus, relaxed alertness; great for study.

SMR / Low Beta (12–15 Hz) — Steady attention, tidy focus for deep work.

Beta (16–20 Hz) — Active thinking; use briefly.

Gamma (30–40 Hz) — Clarity/integration. Keep sessions short and quiet.

Simple recipes:
Theta CalmCarrier 250–300 Hz, ∆ 6 Hz, 20 min
Alpha FocusCarrier 300–350 Hz, ∆ 10 Hz, 25 min
Delta DriftCarrier 200–250 Hz, ∆ 2 Hz, 30–40 min

Recommended Routines

Alpha Focus 25: Carrier 320 Hz, ∆ 10 Hz, 25 min; upright posture; light nasal breathing.

Theta Meditation 15–20: Carrier 260 Hz, ∆ 6 Hz; finish with 2 minutes of silence.

Delta Pre‑sleep 30–40: Carrier 220 Hz, ∆ 2–3 Hz; lights low; keep volume very gentle.

SMR Deep Work 30: Carrier 340 Hz, ∆ 13 Hz; posture steady; short break afterwards.

How long should I listen?
Start with 10–20 minutes. Extend to 30–40 minutes if it feels good.

Can I stack binaural with other tones?
Keep sessions simple. If you combine, do it briefly and gently.
